Times have change. It used to be that if a minor was caught doing something stupid, but not overly horrible, (stealing street signs, TPing a house, alcohol) law enforcement would call the parents. Now, those same behaviors are resulting in arrests and criminal records.Our Juvenile Arrest Lawyers want to be the voice of reason and show the prosecutor and the judge that the youthful offender is a good kid that simply made a mistake. When faced with a juvenile criminal matter, we understand that the primary concern for most parents and children is the child’s criminal record. Georgia is not overly enlightened on erasing a defendant’s criminal record, but certain things can be done to potentially lessen the effects of a criminal charge. We also encourage our clients to perform community service in advance of any hearing or trial in order to show the court that the minor takes the charges seriously. Likewise, if the offense involves alcohol or drugs, we recommend basic treatment classes.
